The AO 1 Point Slam brings everyday players and the world’s best together in a fast, high-pressure knockout. Every match lasts just one point: win it and stay alive.

No UTR is required. Players need a Tennis ID, must be turning at least 12 by 31 December 2026, and must be available for the full session they enter.

Every session offers an Open Mixed division and a Women’s division, with a maximum of 64 players in each. Entry is free. Players may register for only one of the three sessions hosted by MDTC and may enter only one division.

    September-November 2026

    Win at Memorial Drive

    Enter online and compete in a one-point knockout at your local Community Event.

  2. 02

    December 2026

    Represent South Australia

    Community Event winners progress to their State or Territory Championship.

    January 2027

    Play at the Australian Open

    State champions head to Melbourne Park during Opening Week for the AO 1 Point Slam and a shot at $1 million.

Know before you play

Simple format. Serious pressure.

    One point per match

    The winner of the point advances in the knockout draw.

  • 2
    Two serves for most players

    Current ATP/WTA players and retired top-100 players receive one serve.

  • 3
    No warm-up on match court

    Be ready to play when your name is called.

  • 4
    The event host has the final say

    Players make line calls on their side; unresolved disputes are decided by the nominated organiser.

Who can enter?

Players of all abilities are welcome. You need a registered Tennis Profile/Tennis ID, must be turning at least 12 by 31 December 2026, and must be in good standing with Tennis Australia and its Member Associations.

Which division can I enter?

Each session offers an Open Mixed division and a Women’s division, capped at 64 players each. Players may enter only one division.

Do I need a UTR?

No. There is no minimum UTR requirement for a Community Event.

Is entry really free?

Yes. Entry remains free, and registrations are already open.

Can I enter more than one MDTC session?

No. Players may register for only one of the three AO 1 Point Slam sessions hosted by MDTC and may enter only one division within that session.

What happens if I win?

The winner progresses to the South Australian Championship. State and Territory Champions go on to the AO 1 Point Slam during Australian Open Opening Week.
